PAI has a low water absorption rate (approximately 0.5%), but it still requires drying (120℃/4 hours) before processing to prevent bubble formation.

Prolonged exposure to strong oxidizing acids (such as concentrated sulfuric acid) or strong alkalis (such as sodium hydroxide) may lead to performance degradation; a protective coating should be selected based on the medium.

Processing equipment must be heat-resistant. It is recommended to use dedicated screws and barrels to avoid cross-contamination with ordinary plastics.

During the production, processing, and use of polyimide materials, appropriate protective measures should be taken to ensure operational and environmental safety.

During processing, polyimide typically requires curing or molding at relatively high temperatures. Processing temperatures should be strictly controlled to prevent thermal decomposition of the material. Good ventilation should be maintained, and local exhaust ventilation should be installed if necessary to reduce the impact of fumes or volatile substances generated during processing on human health. Operators should wear protective gloves, safety glasses, and other personal protective equipment as needed.

In chemical applications involving solvents or precursors (such as polyamic acid solutions), direct skin contact or inhalation of volatile gases should be avoided, and the material should be handled and stored under specified conditions. During use, prolonged contact with corrosive substances such as strong acids and alkalis should be prevented to avoid degradation or performance changes.

During storage and transportation, polyimide materials should be placed in a dry, well-ventilated environment, avoiding high temperatures, humidity, and strong sunlight to reduce material aging or performance changes. For different forms of polyimide products, appropriate packaging and protective measures should be taken according to their characteristics.

Furthermore, management should be carried out in accordance with relevant safety regulations and operating procedures. A comprehensive safety protection system should be established for large-scale production or industrial applications to improve the safety and reliability of the material during use.
